Helen offers piano, violin and viola lessons to all ages and abilities from the comfort of her own music room in Bromyard. Using a top of the range Yamaha Clavinova and with Stentor student violins for you to borrow, Helen uses a person centred approach to lessons, catering to your own individual tastes and needs. She draws on her experience in all genres of music (classical, folk, jazz, world, pop, theatre, film and game music) and she guides you in developing your technical abilities as well as expanding your repertoire.
1 hour lessons £30.
Currently Helen has availability on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
The student is responsible for buying their own music and accessories. Access to an instrument is essential in order to gain the most from lessons and to progress at a satisfactory pace. Helen will be pleased to advise you on purchasing instruments.
Helen plays viola in West Midlands based The Film Orchestra. She fiddles ferociously in a number of ceilidh bands which play all over the Midlands and beyond, and in various other ensembles including the jazz group Hot Club Collective, the Celtic Wild Summers, mediaeval trio Fleurs de Lys and guitar and violin duo Vegan Vampires.
Helen composes and arranges her own music for students, ensembles and performances. She is a member of Musicians Union and has liability insurance. She has a current enhanced DBS.
